Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is AI4Meta?
AI4Meta is an AI-powered platform for secondary-data research and evidence synthesis — including systematic reviews, meta-analysis, content analysis, text analysis, and other secondary-data workflows. It streamlines the entire process from literature search to publication-ready results.
Who is AI4Meta for?
Researchers, clinicians, students, and anyone conducting evidence synthesis. It's designed for both beginners learning meta-analysis and experienced reviewers looking to save time.
Is AI4Meta free?
AI4Meta offers a free tier for individual researchers with up to 1 active project. Team and institutional plans are available for larger groups.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored on encrypted servers. You can export and delete your data at any time from project settings.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your project data, uploaded PDFs, and screening decisions are never used to train or fine-tune AI models.
Screening
How accurate is AI screening?
AI screening typically achieves 90–95% sensitivity in identifying relevant studies. However, we recommend reviewing all AI suggestions — the tool assists, not replaces, human judgment.
Can I do dual screening?
Yes. Invite a collaborator and assign them as a reviewer. AI4Meta tracks independent decisions and highlights conflicts for resolution.
Analysis
Which statistical models are supported?
Fixed-effect (Mantel-Haenszel, inverse variance) and random-effects (DerSimonian-Laird, REML, Paule-Mandel). Network meta-analysis uses a frequentist framework.
Can I export analysis results?
Yes. All plots export as SVG, PNG, or PDF. Data tables export as CSV or Excel. The full report can be exported as Word or PDF.
Can I use R for custom analyses?
You can export your data in formats compatible with R packages like meta, metafor, and netmeta. An R code generator is available for common analyses.
Collaboration
How many collaborators can I add?
Free tier supports up to 3 collaborators per project. Team plans allow unlimited collaborators.
Is collaboration real-time?
Yes. Changes sync in real-time. You'll see collaborator cursors and edits as they happen in the extraction matrix.
